Vision, Mission & Mandate Statements

Our Vision

The Lake of the Prairies Conservation District will be an environmentally sustainable region, consisting of healthy watersheds, conservation-minded communities and ecologically-conscious individuals.

Our Mandate

To promote the sustainable use and management of natural resources on a watershed basis within the Lake of the Prairies Conservation District. To accomplish this directive within the context of a regional strategy for social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Our Mission

Develop an integrated watershed management plan, in partnership with provincial and local government, and other community interests. Develop and implement voluntary, incentive-based programs and projects that address risks to short and long term quality of water resources and aquatic ecosystems.

Ensure that the ecological integrity and overall health of the watershed is protected by making decisions that will result in positive, sustainable impacts for present and future generations.
