Water Sampling & Well Shock Chlorination

Program Objectives:

Lake of the Prairies CD is committed to ensuring that the local ground water in the CD is safe for everyone to drink.

Landowner Responsibility:

Come to the office and get a water sample bottle, fill out the required paper work, return to the office the same day as the sample was taken.

Water samples must be received by our office, before 10:30 am Tuesday morning.

Conservation District Responsibility:

Receive the water sample; make sure it has been shipped the same day as received

  • Cover all costs (shipping and testing)
  • Cover the costs of one shock chlorination if tests come back positive for harmful bacteria
  • Will pay for second water test after shock chlorination

    Thanks to everyone who inquired and participated in this years program. Each year this program continues to grow in popularity.

    Applications for the 2019/2020 Shelterbelt Program open August 1, 2019 

    This is a list of trees that are offered through the program.

    Green Ash, Bur Oak, Caragana, Red Osier Dogwood, Common Lilac, Manitoba Maple, Oakanese Poplar, Siberian Larch, Scots Pine, Blue Spruce, White Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Acute Willow

    We only have so much money for this program, so once we max out on orders the program is closed for the year.  We strongly recommend those who are interested to submit your applications and cheques ASAP as we don’t hold spots.  Its a first come, first serve program.
